Hungry Young Poets is a reading series for writers at the start of their careers to share their work with a supportive, vibrant literary community. Traditionally, the program has sought to present poets and prose writers under the age 33, but we don't card, and we encourage emerging writers of all ages to apply.

Historically, individuals participating in the program predominately hail from the greater St. Louis area, Missouri, and nearby Illinois. If coming from another region, it would be up to the individual to arrange travel, room, and board.

The readings will take place on June 17, July 15, and August 19 at somewhere in South City in St. Louis, MO.

To apply to read, please submit your original work. A video or recording of you reading is optional, but suggested. The Co-director of the reading series will be in touch about your application and further details once reviewed.
